Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, Carly Simon, recently put her West Village duplex back on the market with an asking price of $2.5 million.
The notoriously shy folksinger’s two-bedroom, two-bath home was first listed by her sister, Joanna of Fox Residential, for $3.9 million in June of 2008. By spring 2010, the singer’s asking price had fallen to $2.98 million and soon after she received an offer to close at that price. But she had second thoughts about selling.
In April 2012, Carly again listed her home with the firm of Douglas Elliman for an asking price of $2.8 million. Three months later, the price dropped to $2.5 million and the listing was cancelled yet again.
The residence, located at 46 Commerce Street near Barrow Street, exudes homey charm and rustic appeal with wide-plank flooring, exposed brick work and two wood-burning fireplaces.
